Beyond the Clinic: How My AAN Leadership Training Elevates Our Commitment to Your Brain Health

October 30, 2025

At the core of my practice is a simple, unwavering commitment: to provide you with the most advanced, comprehensive, and compassionate neurological care possible. This commitment goes beyond the treatments we offer in our clinic; it involves a promise to continuously learn, innovate, and lead in a way that directly benefits your health and well-being.

It is with this mission in mind that I am honored to share a recent professional milestone. I have successfully completed the American Academy of Neurology’s (AAN) prestigious “Women Leading in Neurology” program. This intensive, year-long national initiative is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of brain health.

For me, this wasn't just a training program; it was a transformative experience that sharpened my ability to turn vision into action—for my patients, my community, and the field of neurology.

My Vision for a More Integrated Approach to Neurological Care

I pursued this advanced training to build a stronger bridge between the different pillars of my work. As I shared upon completing the program:

"The training has provided an invaluable framework for translating my clinical and technological work into broader, more impactful change. My mission is to bridge the gaps between regenerative medicine, AI-driven diagnostics, and patient-centered care. This program has strengthened my ability to lead teams, mentor emerging physicians, and advocate for policies that will accelerate progress and improve the lives of patients suffering from neurological disorders."

What This Leadership Means for You

Every aspect of my work is interconnected, with one goal in mind: improving your quality of life. My participation in the AAN leadership program enhances my ability to deliver on this promise in several key areas:

  • Leading-Edge Clinical Care and Cognitive Performance: As one of only a handful of physicians in the world with quadruple board certifications in Neurology, Pain Medicine, Brain Injury Medicine, and Headache Medicine, my first priority is clinical excellence. This training strengthens my ability to lead my teams at the Center of Excellence in Pain & Regenerative Medicine and Quantum Brain Health. It allows us to continue offering innovative, non-surgical regenerative treatments and pioneering new approaches to prevent cognitive decline and optimize brain performance.
  • Pioneering Research and Technology: True progress in medicine requires looking toward the future. As the Co-Founder of CereNova, I am working to develop AI-based diagnostic tools for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases. I also serve as the Principal Investigator for the NeuroStride research project, which uses gait analysis to detect conditions like Parkinson's and ALS. This leadership training is instrumental in guiding these groundbreaking technologies from the research phase into clinical tools that can one day benefit our community directly.
  • Advocating for Better Healthcare Policy: Your care doesn't stop at the clinic door. It is impacted by state and national health policies. That is why I am a dedicated advocate, participating for the third year in the AAN’s Neurology on the Hill in Washington, D.C., where I meet with lawmakers to champion policies that improve patient access to care and reduce administrative burdens. This work ensures your voice is heard where it matters most.
  • Shaping the Future of Neurology: By serving on committees for the American Headache Society and on the Ambassador Council for the American Brain Foundation, I have the privilege of contributing to the direction of my field. This involvement allows me to help shape best practices, promote crucial research, and ensure the needs of patients with headache, brain injury, and other neurological conditions remain a top priority nationally.
  • Investing in Our Community’s Next Generation: A leader's role is also to build up future leaders. I am passionate about championing educational equity and am leading local efforts to establish regional science fairs. This initiative is designed to give students in underserved communities greater access to STEM opportunities, inspiring the next generation of scientists, innovators, and healthcare providers.

A Renewed Commitment to Your Health

Completing the Women Leading in Neurology program is more than a personal achievement; it is a renewal of my promise to you. It has provided me with new tools, a powerful network of peers, and an even clearer focus on driving systemic change that will lead to better outcomes for every patient who walks through our doors.
