The UCNS is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization with a goal of enhancing the quality of patient care by awarding certification to physicians who demonstrate their knowledge and skills in UCNS‐recognized neurologic subspecialty areas and ensuring comprehensive subspecialty training for physicians by accrediting fellowship training programs that meet established educational standards. There are currently over 2,700 UCNS‐certified physicians and 194 UCNS‐accredited fellowship training programs across nine UCNS‐recognized neurologic subspecialties.
