Cortisone and Surgery Alternative

July 30, 2019

Cortisone Injections are used into the joints such as knee, spine, shoulder, hip, elbow, foot, ankle and wrist. Cortisone injections are used to treat pain and inflammation in the area and takes few days for it to start working.

Repeated use of Cortisone injections can cause joint and cartilage damage.

Surgery for joint pain may often time lead to longer downtime and recovery which may or may not resolve the root cause of the pain and has a chance for infection and post surgery complications.

Surgery may not necessarily address the root cause of the pain as often MRI results are misinterpreted due to regular wear and tear which all human body experiences as it ages.

Regenerative medicine is a revolutionary way to repair and regenerate damaged tissue without the use of damaging Cortisone injections and invasive surgery that may have a lengthy recovery time.

Where as a cortisone injection will provide short term relief, it will just mask the pain and it will come back.

Whereas PRP, A simple office procedure involves drawing patients own blood which is processed in a special centrifuge to concentrate platelets 6-8 times its baselines. These concentrated growth factor serum is then injected into the pain area to signal the body to continue healing and promote pain relief.
